Liverpool have accepted an undisclosed offer from Fiorentina for Alberto Aquilani.

The Italian midfielder has flown to Italy from the Reds' pre-season tour of North America to complete his move.

The 28-year-old failed to impress since his move from AS Roma in 2009 and has since spent most of the last two years on loan back in Serie A, with Juventus and AC Milan.
