Liverpool have made a £15m bid for Joe Allen, triggering a release clause in the Swansea midfielder's contract.

Brendan Rodgers hasn't hid the fact that his former player is top of his shopping list this summer, but has waited until after Team GB's Olympic run before making a formal move.

The 22-year-old has been in talks with Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins on Wednesday and will meet with new Swans boss Michael Laudrup today.
