Alberto Aquilani remains in Marcello Lippi's World Cup plans.
The Liverpool midfielder missed plenty of Italy's World Cup qualifiers through injury but has been reassured by Marcello Lippi that he still has a chance of making the 22 man squad for South Africa next Summer.
"The indications from World Cup qualifying mean little, very little," said the Italy boss.
"I have a varied group and it needs to be complete. If I haven't considered a certain player, then why should I not consider him if the conditions are right? Look at Aquilani, for example.
"If he plays with consistency for Liverpool then why shouldn't I consider him?"
