Cole eager to make history

Joe Cole is desperate to make history with the Reds by helping the club to a first Premiership title.

"We just want to get going now. The main thing would be to win the title - that's what the man on the street wants - but we'll just try to keep building and take it slowly," said our new number 10.

"Everything's now in place for a successful spell at this club. I want to be at the start of something fresh and new. It's something I'm very excited about.

"It's a new chapter. We've got the new manager, new backroom staff and I'm a small part of it. I want to help this team and help us to achieve something."
