Dual signing imminent

Liverpool are expected to sign both Yossi Benayoun and Ryan Babel today.
West Ham last night agreed to sell Benayoun to the Reds for £5m and the Israeli international will have a medical at Melwood later today.

The Reds also expect to complete the signing of Dutch under 21's international Ryan Babel from Ajax after upping their offer to £12m.

"I had heard that there were some stories on the internet but that happens quite often. This [Liverpool's interest] is serious news to me," said Babel.

"I haven't thought about a transfer for a minute, I will do that soon though. That such a big club is interested is of course very nice."
