Thomas Sorensen will miss the Premiership opener against the Reds after tearing a hamstring in a pre-season friendly.
"It is very disappointing to be injured. Obviously, Liverpool is a great game to start the season with and that is the sort of game that you want to play in," said the Villa goalkeeper.
