Reserves win

John McMahon's side beat Tranmere Rovers 3-0 in the semi-final of the Liverpool Senior Cup. The Reds will face either Everton or Skelmersdale in the final.

Liverpool's goals were scored by Laurie Dalle Valle (a first at this level for the under 18's striker), David Amoo and an own goal.

"I am really pleased for Lauri and he took his goal really well," said McMahon.

"It was always the plan to introduce him slowly into the reserve team set-up this season and I was pleased with his contribution. Lauri is a natural finisher and he has got that uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time."
