| Rumours have again surfaced that the Reds are looking to buy Simao, the Portuguese winger eyed up by Rafa Benitez in 2005. |
Benitez, known to be a keen fan of the player, tried to sign the player during August 2005, but could not meet Benfica's asking price.
However, with an increased transfer budget available after the arrival of George Gillet Jr and Tom Hicks, it seems a move for Simao could now be back on the cards.
However, Rick Parry was in no mood to talk up speculation, saying any transfer activity would not occur till the end of the season.
Parry said, "At the moment we do not have any negotiations. The end of the season is soon and that will be the time to see." |
